Khao Daeng is a beautiful limestone mountain located near the headquarters of Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park in Prachuap Khiri Khan. This area features a well-preserved mangrove forest. Khao Daeng offers a viewpoint where you can see the surrounding limestone peaks of Khao Sam Roi Yot and enjoy a stunning sunrise over the sea.

The trail to Khao Daeng is about 400 meters from the park headquarters, and the climb up the mountain takes an additional 300 meters, with an estimated walking time of 30 minutes. The best time to visit this viewpoint is between 5:00 and 7:00 AM. Once at the top, you’ll enjoy the cool morning breeze and take in the beautiful view of the surrounding landscape, including local houses and the distant coastline.
At the viewpoint, you'll be immersed in the stunning scenery of the Sam Roi Yot mountain range. During the summer, the mountains change colors with the different types of vegetation growing at various heights. To the east, you can enjoy beautiful views of the Gulf of Thailand, where local fishermen set out to catch fish in the morning against the horizon of the distant sea. On the other side of the viewpoint, you can see Wat Khao Daeng and the Klong Khao Daeng, with its winding water flowing through the large mangrove forest.
Once you reach the Khao Daeng viewpoint, you'll find not only stunning views but also several great photo spots. The most breathtaking view is from the western cliff edge, but be sure to exercise caution. Don't forget to dress warmly and bring mosquito repellent, as the area can be quite mosquito-prone.
